Here 's a fun new and evolving project; a Frankenstein's Monster Portrait! Still working out what the final composition will be, so here are a few possible directions for where this project will go, including the film references used to get there: This 1st idea is taken from a candid shot of Boris Karloff in between takes on the set for the original Frankenstein film in 1931, having a smoke and a cup of tea. I thought it would be fun play with the color a little in Photoshop. Below the image is the original photo and black and white rendering, before adding color: Next up is a straight forward portrait of Karloff as the Monster, taken from a still of the original film; after the sketching I made some rough coloring and highlights in Photoshop to get a sense of what a painting might look like. Here are the photo references and black and white treatment before the colorized version: And here is the last one I worked out so far, also taken from a film still, this time from 'Bride Of Frankenstein': Here are the photo references and the pre-Photoshop highlights: This one is still evolving, so drop me a line with your thoughts!
Peace to Everyone. Andy
