Working out a new project today to share with you, heading back to Star Wars-town for this one!
When life gets too stressful, I can always count on Star Wars to make everything right in the world. (Unless it happens to be the Rise of Skywalker, which uh, did not help make everything right in the world.)
This is Part 1 of 2 below, for 'Bounty Hunting' featuring Bossk and IG-88, who had their literal 2 seconds of fame way back when in 'Empire Strikes Back'. -They are both pictured here teamed up, preparing some dirty deed in a god-forsaken outer-rim planet In A Galaxy Far, Far Away:
It was exciting to return to it, and breath new life into it. At this writing, I am about 80% completed with this work, and setting up the conclusion (Part 2) Video.
Below on the left is where I picked this one up again, and on the right is where we stopped at the end of the above video:
Below are all the project pics taken at the end of each session:
Be well everyone.
Andy C.
Hope you have had a nice weekend, and thanks for stopping by. Wrapping up a fun one today!
This week's session is Part 2 of 2 for St. George (who is actually closer to Robin Hood in my version) & The Dragon (who is more like a hill in my version.) -From last week, here is a recap about where this painting came from, for those who missed part 1:
'This piece was inspired by the story of St. George & the Dragon.' The story is kind of an amalgam of older earth religions appropriated by Christianity, and a legend that propagated itself all over the Byzantine world around the 12th century AD. I was drawn to the idea that the dragon was a metaphor for the Tree of Life, and that the Dragon was at war with humanity, requiring sacrifices. (So St. George heroically has to go slay the dragon.)'
Enjoy you guys!
Below left are the source references used to set up the painting, and to help me with my lighting decisions. Below right are the Step-By Step pics taken after each session:
Have a question about Art? Maybe a specific topic you would like to see me cover? Drop me a line and let me know!
In the meantime, be safe and have fun everyone. Have a great week and see you next session!
