Open Studios is a city-wide annual art show with multiple locations and hundreds of artists participating each year. I participated in November last year and obtained a show at the Imago Dei Gallery inside of the Trinity Church, on Franklin at Bush Streets here in San Francisco. The place is amazing. A medieval-styled castle established in 1849, made of roughly-hewn stones in the middle of a very modern, bustling city block just off of Van Ness street in SF; it is a relic to some former time and a beauty to behold. There is an enormous pipe organ where the services are held, with the pipes built out inside the walls for maximum acoustic effect when being played. There is a hundred year old wine cellar there as well, long in disuse but still completely serviceable; dating back to a time when social conventions around alcohol and church were very different. There I met Kay, a fantastic transgender woman and clergy member at this Episcopal Christian Church, who has become a dear friend to me. She thought highly enough of my work to offer an extended show throughout the month of December last year, which I happily accepted. These slideshow pics are from this time around Christmas last year. Andy
