New work! This was an exploration in the color red, and just kinda grew from there, with the sky and mountains evolving from the colors. After a while, I saw that I could not tell whether it was day or night, and it hit me that I have explored that concept in other painting in the past, so I pushed it further with that in mind. I started filling the sky with stars, and then thought it would be cool to highlight the constellation of Gemini (the twins) in the mix. Let me know your thoughts! Andy C. And here below are a few stages I captured along the way: As ever, thanks so much for taking a look, and let me know your thoughts on this one!

Just starting out a new piece this week!
For now my working title is 'Two Cats' and features these two guys below, Troy and Tab (named after Troy Hunter and Tab Hunter from various surf movies from the 50's: ) . This is my main reference below, with secondary pics for different angles as well. It's been a while since I have done a pet portrait, and I'm excited for the opportunity. Let me know your thoughts on the process as it progresses! Andy C. Here are some fun images for this week; A series of Monster Cards!!
These cards were all done by hand on an official card stock sent to me by the Classic Movie Poster Company, and subsequently sold at a San Diego Comicon a few years ago in a set, along with other artist representations of different films. They were all done in pen and ink, and colored with color pencil directly on the card stock. Each image was taken from an actual movie poster of the time for each individual film.
