Finishing up my character studies for 'The Good, The Bad and the Ugly', here is Eli Wallach as Tuco, or 'The Ugly'. Tuco was pretty despicable in the movie, but you still kinda wind up rooting for him in the end just 'cause he tries so hard. Also, he gets regularly hung and then saved by Clint Eastwood, and completely beaten up from time to time, so he just comes up as more nuanced and complex than most bad guys... This is a pencil sketch, with all values and grey-tones done in Photoshop. And here below are all the many steps I took to take him there, starting with my main source image for the work. Until next time, Andy
